The project is a short fashion film that captures the essence of Greek National Identity, with each element working harmoniously to convey this cultural richness.
Costumes and styling: The fashion film was done in collaboration with the Greek clothing brand Kirki's Loom. Their garments are inspired by Greek antiquity and are fully handcrafted in Greece with the ancient technique of looming. As for shoes, we used sandals, all in earthly or golden colours.
Locations: Authentic Greek landscapes show the Greek heritage and nature in all aspects. The sea, the olive grove, and the temple are all pure and immaculate locations. They aim to give an angelic feel, convincing the viewers that the Nereids might actually resort there.
Sound: With deliberate absence of dialogue, the film relies on nature's sounds to deepen audience immersion. As per music, the scores are all connected to the theme. In the temple scene, the piece is an original adaptation of an old traditional Greek song. The goal was to create a siren-like song, which is both celebratory and mournful, evoking a sense of longing for the past. The sirens in mythology used to lure sailors by the sweetness of their song, which is represented by the singer's feminine and melodic voice.
